The challenge: Bringing AI into a complex, multi-year development programme
The Changi East Cluster oversees the long-term development of Changi East, including Terminal 5 and its supporting infrastructure. With a team of more than 200 people spanning project management, programme control, information management, and construction delivery, the cluster works with a large volume of tender documents, contract drawings, manpower data, and progress reporting every week. Leaders recognised that generative AI could help the team work through this information faster and more consistently, but that interest in AI had to be matched by practical, applied capability.
The team also operates within Changi Airport Group's enterprise environment, where Microsoft Copilot is the approved AI platform and company data must remain within governed systems. Any training had to respect these boundaries while still giving participants hands-on experience with agentic AI and automation.
What the cluster needed was a programme that started with its leaders, so that those shaping the direction of the programme could identify where AI adds the most value, champion its adoption, and set the tone for the wider team in subsequent runs.

Why Heicoders Academy: A programme proven within Changi Airport Group
Heicoders Academy is already a trusted training partner within Changi Airport Group. GA100 had previously been delivered for Changi Airport Group’s management team, giving the cluster confidence that the programme could be tailored to the organisation’s environment. From the first discovery call, the Heicoders team focused on contextualising the delivery for Changi East, aligning the prompt engineering lessons to Microsoft Copilot and grounding the exercises in the cluster’s real work.
GA100 also offered the depth the cluster was looking for. As an SSG-accredited programme built around real tools and real business scenarios, it gave participants a structured path from foundational prompting through to building and deploying agentic workflows, with responsible AI woven throughout. Heicoders also worked closely with Changi Airport Group IT to confirm tool access, ensuring that all hands-on exercises using external platforms ran in standalone environments with no company data involved.
Heicoders Academy is Singapore's leading AI-First Skills Accelerator, with over 30,000 learners trained, 4,000+ five-star reviews, and 300+ corporate clients including DBS Bank, Standard Chartered, and Sembcorp.
The solution: A private, customised GA100 run for Changi East's senior leadership
Heicoders Academy delivered a private, customised run of GA100 exclusively for the Changi East Cluster. The programme ran across three training days on 2, 7 and 9 October 2026, delivered in-person at the Changi East Project Office Training Room for a cohort of 29 participants drawn from the cluster’s senior leadership, including Project Directors and Leads. Microsoft Copilot anchored the foundational lessons in line with Changi Airport Group’s enterprise environment, and exercises drew on the cluster’s day-to-day work, such as processing large libraries of tender documents and submissions, tracking manpower changes across project packages, building manpower dashboards, and comparing revised contract drawings to produce clear, annotated presentation decks. The curriculum progressed deliberately across five core areas:
- Generative AI Basics and Prompt Engineering: How Large Language Models work, key AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini), advanced prompting techniques including chain-of-thought and few-shot prompting, and AI-powered media creation.
- Advanced Workflows and AI Agents: Hands-on lab using Manus AI to build and deploy multi-step automated workflows across 9 real-world business scenarios, including email automation, data analysis, wide research, spreadsheet automation, and slide generation.
- Agentic Workflow Automation with n8n: Building powerful automated pipelines by connecting multiple applications and services to automate common business processes such as data extraction and report generation.
- RAG for Business Data: Learning how to combine AI with the organisation’s internal data to create reliable, factual knowledge bases and secure private AI systems.
- MCP and Managing AI Risk: Applying frameworks for safe, compliant, and ethical AI use in an enterprise setting, culminating in a hands-on Capstone Project where participants applied their full suite of newly acquired skills.
Around the curriculum, Heicoders Academy provided end to end wraparound support, from enrolment and registration onto its Student eLearn portal, to handling the government funding administration on behalf of the organisation, coordinating venue logistics, and supporting eligible participants through the WSQ assessment component. This allowed the Changi East team to focus entirely on the learning experience while the operational details were managed for them.

Results: Senior leaders equipped to lead AI adoption across the cluster
The engagement brought the cluster’s senior leadership together for the complete three-day programme, giving Project Directors and Leads a shared, hands-on grounding in applied and agentic AI. Throughout the run, participants worked directly with the tools on scenarios drawn from their own work, building and testing workflows rather than simply observing demonstrations.
Engagement across the cohort was strong, and the programme gave leaders a clear view of where AI can support the cluster’s work, from document-heavy tender processes to manpower tracking and reporting. By the end of the run, participants had moved from understanding what generative AI can do to actively applying it, and were well placed to champion responsible AI adoption within their own teams.

What's next: Extending AI capability across Changi East
This first run marks the start of a broader rollout, with subsequent runs planned for Changi East. With its leaders now trained, the cluster has a strong foundation to scale AI capability across the wider team.
Heicoders Academy looks forward to supporting more of Changi East through these subsequent runs, as part of its ongoing efforts in training Changi Airport Group, and to supporting Changi East in its mission to deliver the next chapter of Changi Airport’s growth. The Changi East run reflects how Heicoders Academy partners with enterprise organisations on AI transformation: starting with the leaders who set the direction, keeping the learning practical and hands-on, and pairing it with the responsible AI practices that enterprise environments require.
