Equipping a Regional Healthcare Team to Apply AI Safely Across 10 Markets: Parkway Cancer Centre x Heicoders Academy

As part of its CanHOPE Regional Meeting 2026, Parkway Cancer Centre partnered with Heicoders Academy to deliver a customised, hands-on half-day Generative and Agentic AI Workshop for around 80 regional sales, representative office, Singapore-based and nursing colleagues from 10 countries across South and Southeast Asia.

Who Took Part: A Truly Regional Audience

As part of its CanHOPE Regional Meeting 2026, Parkway Cancer Centre (PCC), part of IHH Healthcare Singapore, partnered with Heicoders Academy to deliver a customised, hands-on half-day Generative and Agentic AI Workshop. The session brought together PCC’s regional sales and representative office teams from 10 countries across South and Southeast Asia, alongside Singapore-based colleagues and a dedicated nursing group, bringing around 80 participants together for one shared learning experience. Held in-person at Grand Hyatt Singapore on 30 October 2026, the four-hour workshop focused on one practical question: how AI can help PCC’s teams raise awareness, build partnerships and support more patients in accessing care in Singapore, safely and responsibly.

The workshop was designed for a diverse, multinational audience of around 80 participants, representing PCC’s presence across the region. Participants came from:

  • Southeast Asia: Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar and Singapore
  • South Asia: India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka

The audience was organised into clear group profiles, which shaped how the workshop was run:

  • Regional sales and representative office teams: Seasoned professionals responsible for patient outreach, partner engagement and business development in their home markets.
  • Singapore-based colleagues: Team members working on company-issued laptops within PCC’s approved Microsoft Copilot environment and security controls.
  • Nursing group: A dedicated table of nursing participants, who worked together as their own discussion group.

Participants were seated in table groups of 8 following PCC’s planned seating arrangement, with the nursing participants forming their own table of 10. Experience with AI varied widely across the room, and the session was conducted in English for all markets.

The Challenge: Practical AI for Many Markets, Within Strict Healthcare Safeguards

PCC did not want a general introduction to AI. Its regional teams needed practical skills they could apply immediately when they returned to their markets, from raising awareness of PCC’s services and localising campaign content, to identifying referral partners and following up on events and enquiries.

Operating in healthcare meant that data protection had to sit at the centre of the programme. PCC was clear that patient data, medical reports, contact details and confidential information must never be entered into AI tools, and that participants should learn habits they could safely repeat at work, not just in the classroom. Recent data protection incidents in Singapore’s healthcare sector reinforced how important this was.

Tool access also differed across the audience. Singapore-based colleagues were limited to the basic, company-approved Copilot experience on secured laptops, while overseas colleagues worked on a mix of laptops and mobile devices. The programme needed to work for everyone, without bypassing any security controls or requiring participants to purchase tools.

Why Heicoders Academy: Practical, Contextualised and Built Around PCC’s Safeguards

PCC chose Heicoders Academy for its experience delivering hands-on, contextualised AI programmes for large corporate audiences. Over several rounds of alignment with PCC’s marketing team, Heicoders refined the programme around PCC’s priorities: a Copilot-only route for colleagues on company laptops, exercises built on public information and generic tasks, and clear guidance on what must always stay outside AI tools.

As Singapore’s exclusive Manus AI education partner, Heicoders also gave participants a hands-on view of agentic AI, with training credits provided so that no participant needed to purchase a subscription or enter payment details. Any tool outside PCC’s approved list was positioned as a training demonstration only.

Heicoders Academy is Singapore's leading AI-First Skills Accelerator, with over 30,000 learners trained, 4,000+ five-star reviews, and 300+ corporate clients including Changi Airport Group, DBS Bank, Standard Chartered, Sembcorp, Unilever, Marriott International, and Temasek Trust.

The Solution: A Customised Four-Hour Workshop for the CanHOPE Regional Meeting

Heicoders Academy delivered a four-hour workshop from 9:00am to 1:00pm on 30 October 2026, with every exercise contextualised to PCC’s sales, marketing and outreach work. The programme opened by setting clear boundaries on what AI may be used for, what must remain outside it, and when to seek guidance from Legal, Compliance or the Data Protection Officer. It then progressed across six segments:

  • Introduction to Generative AI: How Large Language Models work and power tools like Copilot, reasoning and thinking models, memory, custom instructions, and the capabilities and limitations of Copilot.
  • Prompt Engineering Fundamentals: Shot-based, chain, chain of thought, tree of thought and system prompting, practised on PCC scenarios such as turning a previous breast cancer awareness campaign brief into a new colorectal cancer awareness brief, building a campaign strategy and four-week social media content calendar, and drafting Week 1 campaign materials. Participants also learned to reduce hallucinations through data grounding, negative constraints and mandatory citations, with all medical claims grounded in a reference factsheet. Prompts were submitted through a customised dashboard, so the trainer could review selected examples live.
  • Practical AI Applications: Using AI deep research to understand local market trends, identify potential referral partners, find relevant healthcare events, and review how other oncology providers approach outreach, while respecting patient choice, healthcare advertising requirements and ethical referral practices. Participants also explored drafting event follow-up messages, partner communications and campaign summaries, and learned to recognise when AI is not the right tool for the job.
  • Introduction to AI Agents: The difference between using AI as a tool and AI as a system, and what makes an agent agentic.
  • Hands-On AI Agents Lab: Using Manus AI to generate and publish a campaign poster, build a dashboard, research competitors and compile the findings into a spreadsheet and slide deck, and use browser automation to identify potential B2B partners such as private banks, insurers and professional associations. The lab closed with building a live landing page to support awareness and outreach.
  • Build-a-thon: Each table identified a real business or market challenge, brainstormed an AI-supported solution, and presented it to the wider group.

Throughout the session, Heicoders emphasised safe handling habits: removing or masking sensitive details before anything reaches an AI tool, matching results back in a separate approved system, keeping a human in the loop to check what goes in and what comes out, and clearing any real use with IT, Legal, Compliance and the DPO before implementation.

Results: A Regional Team With Practical Skills and Shared Guardrails

The workshop brought around 80 participants from across 10 countries together for a shared, hands-on experience of generative and agentic AI, and everyone came away having learned a great deal. Rather than watching demonstrations, participants worked in their table groups on scenarios drawn directly from their own work, from campaign planning and content localisation to market research and partner outreach, seeing for themselves how much faster and more effectively AI could help them work.

The build-a-thon gave every table the chance to apply what they had learned to a real challenge from their own markets and share their ideas with colleagues from other countries, encouraging cross-market learning. The session was very well received, with participants highly engaged throughout and learning a lot across every segment, from writing effective, well-grounded prompts and building campaign materials in minutes, to researching their markets and seeing first-hand what AI agents can do. By the end of the session, participants had moved from varied levels of AI familiarity to practical skills they could bring back to their markets, together with a clear, common understanding of how to use AI responsibly in a healthcare setting.

What’s Next: Building on the Momentum Across the Region

With its regional teams now sharing a common foundation in practical and responsible AI, PCC is well placed to identify where AI can add the most value across its markets, from awareness campaigns to partner engagement.

Heicoders Academy is grateful to Parkway Cancer Centre for the opportunity to be part of the CanHOPE Regional Meeting, and looks forward to continuing to support PCC in building practical, responsible AI capability across its teams in Singapore and the region.
