The Challenge: Moving From Good Prompts to Working Outputs
This session followed on from PropertyGuru's AI Learning Series, in which Heicoders Academy had delivered a Prompt Engineering Webinar in July 2026. By the time Learning Fest came around, Gurus already understood how to write effective prompts. The open question was what came after that: how to move from a well-written prompt to an actual working output, such as a dashboard or a data-driven decision, without needing engineering support.
PropertyGuru also wanted this session to be genuinely hands-on rather than demonstration only, which meant extending the original one-hour format to 1.5 hours to make room for participants to build something themselves, not just watch it being built.

Having already delivered a well-received session in PropertyGuru's AI Learning Series, Heicoders Academy extended the format to meet this brief, adding a genuine hands-on component and structuring the session around Excel, the tool Gurus already use daily, as the entry point into applied AI.
The curriculum progressed from everyday productivity tools to agentic AI, giving Gurus a first look at AI agents and how to use them to build real outputs, before putting that knowledge into practice through a live challenge.

The Solution: A Hands-On, Company-Wide AI Applications Workshop
The session was delivered virtually on 6 August 2026 from 3:30pm to 5:00pm SGT, open to PropertyGuru's entire workforce and led by Heicoders instructor Beh Min Yan, an ex-AI Engineer at GoJek and ex-Quantitative Researcher at Credit Suisse. The 90-minute format progressed through four stages:
- Why Most Gurus Are Only Using 10% of Their AI Access: A visual map of where Copilot 365 already lives inside everyday apps such as Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word and PowerPoint, the common reasons Gurus underuse their AI access, and the productivity gap between Gurus who use these tools daily and those who do not.
- Excel Meets AI, Turning Data Into Decisions in Minutes: Live demonstrations connecting Excel to Copilot 365 to summarise data, surface trends, perform data analytics and reconcile figures across sheets, followed by the same dataset run through OpenAI to compare outputs, alongside techniques to mitigate AI hallucinations.
- How to Build a Dashboard With an AI Agent (Manus AI): An introduction to AI agents and how they differ from familiar tools such as Copilot, followed by a walkthrough of how to properly build a dashboard using an AI agent through spec-based vibe coding.
- Guru Innovation Challenge: Participants were given 15 minutes to build their own dashboard addressing a real problem faced by PropertyGuru, using the agentic AI techniques taught in the session. Heicoders built a dedicated submission website so the management team could review every entry in one place and select a winner.
As with previous sessions in the series, the workshop was designed to remain accessible to Gurus at every seniority level, from junior executives to senior managers.
Results: Gurus Building, Not Just Watching
126 Gurus took part in the session across PropertyGuru's distributed teams. Engagement carried through the full 90 minutes, including the hands-on Guru Innovation Challenge, where participants worked directly with agentic AI tools to build their own dashboards rather than simply observing a demonstration.
The format marked a step up from the earlier Prompt Engineering Webinar in the series, giving Gurus not just the language to work with AI tools, but direct practice building something with them.
