The Challenge: More Officers Needing Python Skills
The Police Intelligence Department (PID) has worked with Heicoders Academy for more than three years. Over that time, its officers have attended AI100 (Python Programming and Data Visualisation), AI200 (Applied Machine Learning), DA100 (Data Analytics with SQL and Tableau) and GA100 (Generative AI Course for Automation and Productivity), building a base of technical skills across the department. You can read how the partnership began in our earlier case study, A Multi-Year Partnership in Tech Excellence.
As more officers needed Python skills, the PID wanted a class run exclusively for its own team. A dedicated run would let officers learn alongside their colleagues and work through the material at a pace set for the department.
Why Heicoders Academy: Quality Proven Over Three Years
The PID already knew the quality of our training first hand. Officers had been attending AI100 since before the course was eligible for SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) subsidies, and the department kept sending new batches once subsidies were secured.
That track record made a dedicated run a natural next step. Our instructors are active industry practitioners, and the PID could count on the same rigour officers had come to expect from our public classes.
Heicoders Academy is Singapore's leading AI-First Skills Accelerator, with over 30,000 learners trained, 4,000+ five-star reviews, and 300+ corporate clients including Changi Airport Group, Marriott International, and Temasek Trust.
The Solution: A Dedicated Run of AI100
We designed and delivered a dedicated run of AI100: Python Programming and Data Visualisation for PID officers. The curriculum covered:
- Python Fundamentals: Core programming concepts, from variables and control flow to functions.
- Data Handling with Python: Cleaning, transforming and analysing structured data using libraries such as pandas.
- Data Visualisation: Turning analysis into clear charts that support reporting and decision-making.
The class was led by Chan Yu Siang, our Chief Academic Officer.

What’s Next: Supporting the PID Through More Forms of Training
The PID’s decision to commission a dedicated class reflects the trust built over three years of working together. We are grateful for that continued confidence.
Heicoders Academy is committed to supporting the PID through more forms of training in the future, as its officers continue to build deeper technical capabilities.
