The Challenge: Taking AI From the Leadership Team to the Wider Cluster

The Changi East Cluster oversees the long-term development of Changi East, including Terminal 5 and its supporting infrastructure. With the cluster’s senior leaders already trained in the first run, the next step was to equip the wider team, the professionals who work hands-on every day with tender documents, contract drawings, project data, manpower information and progress reporting.

This cohort brought a broad mix of roles, from programme control and information management to planning, design and construction. The programme needed to be relevant across all of these functions, giving each participant practical techniques they could apply to their own work rather than a general overview of AI.

As with the first run, the training also had to operate within Changi Airport Group’s enterprise environment, where Microsoft Copilot is the approved AI platform and company data must remain within governed systems.

Why Heicoders Academy: Building on a Proven First Run

The first Changi East run gave the cluster confidence in both the programme and the delivery. Leaders had experienced first-hand how GA100 was contextualised to Microsoft Copilot and grounded in the cluster’s real work, and they chose to extend the same approach to their teams so that everyone would share a common foundation and language for AI.

GA100 also offered the depth the wider team needed. As an SSG-accredited programme built around real tools and real business scenarios, it gave participants a structured path from foundational prompting through to building and deploying agentic workflows, with responsible AI woven throughout. Heicoders continued to work within the arrangements agreed with Changi Airport Group IT, ensuring that all hands-on exercises using external platforms ran in standalone environments with no company data involved.

The Solution: A Second Private, Customised GA100 Run for the Changi East Team

Heicoders Academy delivered the second private run of GA100 for the Changi East Cluster across three training days on 21, 23 and 28 October 2026, held in-person at the Changi East Project Office Training Room for a cohort of 26 participants. Microsoft Copilot anchored the foundational lessons in line with Changi Airport Group’s enterprise environment, and exercises drew on the cluster’s day-to-day work, such as processing large volumes of tender and project documents, tracking and visualising manpower data, comparing revised drawings and information, and preparing clear reports and presentation decks. The curriculum progressed deliberately across five core areas:

• Generative AI Basics and Prompt Engineering: How Large Language Models work, key AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini), advanced prompting techniques including chain-of-thought and few-shot prompting, and AI-powered media creation.
• Advanced Workflows and AI Agents: Hands-on lab using Manus AI to build and deploy multi-step automated workflows across 9 real-world business scenarios, including email automation, data analysis, wide research, spreadsheet automation, and slide generation.
• Agentic Workflow Automation with n8n: Building powerful automated pipelines by connecting multiple applications and services to automate common business processes such as data extraction and report generation.
• RAG for Business Data: Learning how to combine AI with the organisation’s internal data to create reliable, factual knowledge bases and secure private AI systems.
• MCP and Managing AI Risk: Applying frameworks for safe, compliant, and ethical AI use in an enterprise setting, culminating in a hands-on Capstone Project where participants applied their full suite of newly acquired skills.

Around the curriculum, Heicoders Academy provided end to end wraparound support, from enrolment and registration onto its Student eLearn portal, to handling the government funding administration on behalf of the organisation, coordinating venue logistics, and supporting eligible participants through the WSQ assessment component. This allowed the Changi East team to focus entirely on the learning experience while the operational details were managed for them.

Results: A Wider Team Equipped to Apply AI in Their Day-to-Day Work

The second run brought 26 professionals from across the Changi East Cluster through the complete three-day programme, extending the shared foundation in applied and agentic AI from the leadership team to the people who carry out the cluster’s work every day. Throughout the run, participants worked directly with the tools on scenarios drawn from their own roles, building and testing workflows rather than simply observing demonstrations.

Engagement across the cohort was strong, and participants from planning, design and construction saw clear relevance to their professional practice, from design development and documentation to coordination, research and project delivery. By the end of the run, participants had moved from understanding what generative AI can do to actively applying it, and were well placed to bring these techniques back into their teams.

What’s Next: Continuing to Support Changi Airport Group

With both its leaders and a growing share of its wider team now trained, the Changi East Cluster has a strong foundation for embedding AI across its work. Subsequent runs will extend the programme further, and Heicoders Academy looks forward to supporting more of these as part of its ongoing efforts in training Changi Airport Group.
